Dr Anmar Aydami

Dr Anmar Aydami grew up in New Zealand. He was the senior Dux of Mount Albert Grammar School in Auckland New Zealand 1996 and topped New Zealand in the NZIC chemistry competition.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Human Biology, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with distinction from the University of Auckland in 2003 and was awarded the Violet Souter and Woolf Fisher scholarships.

Dr Aydami subsequently relocated to Australia and worked in cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery and general surgery, with further postgraduate training in Intensive Care Medicine at the Prince Charles Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners with extended skills in ICU in 2015.

Dr Aydami enjoys the broad continuum of general practice, which unveils skill sets from a number of disciplines including skin cancer and ingrown nail surgery, men’s health, women’s health including contraception/Implanon  insertion, cycle abnormalities, fertility assessment, medically indicated iron infusion and medical management of menopause. He has expertise in managing ear infections and wax using an operating microscope and micro suction. Dr Aydami is passionate about chronic disease management including obesity, diabetes, emphysema, asthma, smoking cessation, irritable bowel, thyroid, iron overload, medically indicated venesections and heart disease with a strong emphasis on lifestyle medicine and preventative care including non invasive cardiac investigations , calcium scores,  immunisations, paediatrics, travel advice and travel immunisations.

Outside work Dr Aydami enjoys river kayaking, camping, cooking, reading literature, creative writing, and is a keen amateur photographer and astronomer. Not to mention perfecting magic tricks and science experiments for the amusement of his kids.
