MVM welcomes Jo Gooderson, Physiotherapist, to our expert team of Allied Health Professionals


 

Jo has a Bachelor in Exercise Science, a Masters in Physiotherapy, and has recently commenced a PhD in Inter-professional Education.

In her 18 years of physiotherapy experience, she has worked in a number of settings, from Elite Athletes, Acute hospitals and with the Ministry of Defence in England treating British soldiers with acute as well as complex conditions.   Jo completed further training in Acupuncture and Pilates prescription and is passionate about correcting movement patterns and motor control.  She is passionate about more complex conditions such as Chronic Pain and Hypermobility syndrome.  She uses a wide variety of skills to empower patients to regain their functional movements to fully participate in their lives.

She is the founder of Ember Healthcare, a unique team of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing clients with access to quality healthcare services using simple to use technology such as Skype.   Suitable for clients with mobility issues, or those living remotely and are unable to access services from the clinic.    Jo is available for face-to-face appointments here at Manly most days, please check availability with Reception Staff.

Jo lives in Manly with her family and growing menagerie, and can often be spotted walking the dogs on the esplanade. She has competed at a high level in athletics, touch football, netball, basketball and martial arts in her time, but now prefers Pilates and Yoga.

She is looking forward to using her expertise to treat a wide range of conditions at our Medical Practice.
