45-49 health checks

As part of our Preventative Health program, we offer free health checks for eligible patients in the 45-49 year old age group with the aim to help prevent, detect early and treat chronic health conditions. Do you have at least one of the following risk factors?

  • family history of disease (e.g. Cancer, Heart Disease, Diabetes)
  • high blood pressure
  • inadequate exercise
  • high cholesterol
  • smoking
  • overweight

Ask your doctor here at MVM for more details. It is better to avoid disease than to treat it. This health check will give us the opportunity to look at your lifestyle and your doctor and nurse can support you by checking your lifestyle for health risks. We will give you personalised advice on how to reduce your risk of illness by making some healthy changes, provide you with practical advice to help you improve your health and put you in touch with expert advice, information and support.

* the health check is fully bulk billed but any subsequent visits or reviews may be charged at the normal consultation rate.

75 + Health Assessments

Patients 75 years and over are eligible for a free Health Assessment. The assessment is conducted by one of our Registered Nurses either in your home or in our clinic, on behalf of your Doctor, and takes approximately 45 minutes of your time.

These assessments provide an overall health summary and are made up of a number of questions looking at all areas of your health & well-being including diet and nutrition, exercise, mobility, mental health, family & social relationships.

During the assessment, we will check blood pressure, pulse, height & weight, vision and perform a urinalysis.

To follow up after the Home Visit the patient makes an appointment with their GP to discuss the outcome of the assessment. Assessments are bulk billed.
