It has not been detected in Canines (dogs) in Papua New Guinea.
Mosquito Protection Required: The CDC report the presence of Zika, Malaria, Japanese Encephalitis and Dengue in Papua New Guinea. Malaria has been reported throughout the country at altitudes <2,000 m (6,561 ft). Please discuss your destinations and itinerary so that we can assess risk.
Pregnancy Warning: Zika is a risk in Papua New Guinea. Zika infection during pregnancy can cause serious birth defects. Therefore, pregnant women should not travel to Papua New Guinea. Partners of pregnant women and couples planning pregnancy should know the possible risks to pregnancy and take preventive steps.
